Alisher Khakimjanov's case update
Yesterday, British Home Office refused asylum claim of Alisher Khakimjanov, 28 Uzbek asylum seeker on the grounds that he didn't establish a clear fear of persecution in Uzbekistan. In a decision, British Home Office suggests that myself and Craig Murray cannot present objective information because we oppose the Uzbek regime.
This came as a surprise to me to hear such things from the British government, normally I hear such allegations from the oppressive government of Uzbekistan which considers everything critical of its policies as non-objective. According to the UN Rapporteur for Torture, Uzbekistan is a country where torture and rape are routinely used against arrested and imprisoned persons http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSL23325451. According to former inmates the worst treatment are given to the religious and political prisoners.
